Hands Pulling Training

TechniqueGive a tug at the arms to activate the shoulder girdle pulling them up into sitting

Frequency:

  • 1-2 x daily
  • Work up to 10 hand pulls watching for head lag on the way up or down

Undesired reactions:

  • Unable to pull the head off the floor
  • Head lag from laying position to head flexion
  • Not able to engage the biceps to assist in pulling up into a seated position
  • Holding breath
  • Unable to coordinate head, arm, and sitting movements
  • Unable to keep feet on the floor during the sit up
