Color-Based Brain Activation

Equipment: Blue or Red color lens glasses - (hyperlinked to Amazon junior-sized glasses)

How to achieve the Maximum benefit of activation

  1. Use in conjunction with one or more other brain activations (sound, smell, light)
  2. Use before focused attention is needed for an activity
  3. Use to assist in calming anxiety - great before bed or after a full day at school or overstimulation
  4. Use with exercise sessions for maximum brain activation and balancing.

Frequency:

  • 30-minute sessions as needed

R Hemisphere weakness = Blue Lenses

L Hemisphere weakness = Red Lenses

**Generally speaking these applications of color apply to the hemisphere we have identified. However, it is recommended to try both colors and ask the child how they feel with each of the colors to determine best how they respond**

We have weaknesses in both sides of the brain and each system has its way of affecting us (sight, sound, smell) 

Positive reactions:

  • slowing of breathing
  • deepening of breath (larger inhalations)
  • general calming feeling in the body

Negative reactions:

  • shortening or shallow breathing
  • agitation with the color light
  • feelings of anxiousness
