Understanding Babinski Reflex

The Babinski Reflex plays a role in the development of commando crawling (by pushing the toes into the floor to propel forward) The Babinski determines the adequacy of the central nervous system that is tied to Sensory, Vestibular Proprioceptive, and Visual Systems.
When tested: The toes fan out in response to external stimulation/ sister response is the Plantar reflex and the toes flex downwards
Associated behaviors of a retained reflex:
- Toe Walking
- Poor balance and Coordination
- Shoe or sock sensitivities
- Stumble, trip. Lose balance
- Fall frequently
- Poor motor planning
- Difficulty with Gym glass or sports
- Visual-Motor plan for learning
- Sensory sensitivities
- Eye Tracking
- Hand-eye Coordination
- Muscles in the back of the legs are affected, altering gait
