Tuck Ups

Tuck Ups are a continuation of the TLR and STNR integration.
Technique: Sitting with knees bent and feet on the floor have your child start with their feet supported by you or by putting the feet under a piece of furniture. Cross the arms over the chest and begin to sit up. It may initially look like a crunch and that is ok. Gradually you are working toward a full sit-up with the chin tucked.
Frequency:
- 1x daily
- the goal per age group should look like this:
- Age 5-8 = 25/30 in 1 minute
- Age 8-12 = 40/45 in 1 minute
- Age 12 and over = 45 and greater in 1 minute
Undesired observations: Exercise is not complete until the below observations or gone:
- Inconsistent speed (slows or speeds up during the movement).
- Holding breath.
- lifting feet off the floor
- head lag
- reaching with arms forward or any extra movement to create momentum
