Cross Pattern Crawling
This exercise is a continuation of work for the Asymmetrical Tonic Neck Reflex (ATNR)
Technique:
- Crawling on all fours
- Moving the opposite arm and leg together at the same time
- Both the hand and the knee of the opposite leg land at the same time
- Head is turning toward the hand that is in front or advancing to be in front
Frequency:
- Crawl for a 2 minute timer with no rest breaks
Undesired observations: Exercise is not complete until the below observations or gone:
- Movement is not smooth and coordinated.
- Hands or knees do not land at the same time.
- Eyes do not follow leading hand.
- Difficulty maintain table position (back dips or arches)
- Elbow of straight arm bends when head turns
- Time or rhythm confusion
