Equipment: short footstool or ottoman
alternate: edge of the bed or couch
Technique: Quick movement backward of the head at least 6 inches. Tilt the chin up and have the child close their eyes for maximum results
Frequency:
- 1-2 x daily
- repetitions -10x
Positive reactions:
- involuntary raising of the arms or hands
- stiffening of the body and neck
- raising up of feet off the floor
- blinking
- the emotional reaction of anger or tears or shutting down
Scoring:
- 4: more than 75% of movements react
- 3: 50-75% react
- 2: 25-50% react
- 1: less than 25% react
- 0: zero reaction movement = INTEGRATION
Integration has occurred when you get zero reactions
