This exercise is a continuation of work for the Tonic Labyrinthine Reflex (TLR)
Technique:
- Child starts in the "downward dog" position with arms straight (no elbow bend)
- Child moves SMOOTHLY into the "cobra" position with hips on the floor and the shoulders and head raised with head looking up to the ceiling (no lifting of the feet off the floor)
- Transition from one position to the other should not be disconnected/disjointed/awkward (see Mastery video)
Frequency:
- 10 cycles
Undesired observations: Exercise is not complete until the below observations or gone:
- Unable to keep arms still while the head is moving, arms bending
- Dropping down of the arms
- Raising of feet off the floor
- Holding breath
